As a leading educator of various professionals in Africa, the Foundation of Professional Development has trained over 450 000 students to date. FPD has significant virtual training and e-learning capacity that has been strategically leveraged during the COVID-19 pandemic to reach and train thousands of Principals, Deputy Principals, School Governing Bodies and School Leadership members on COVID-19 readiness for their schools.

The School of Education has developed a COVID-19 Classroom Readiness for Schools online short course to bring educational leaders up to date with school, staff and learner safety. This course has been sponsored by the Matthew Goniwe School of Governance and Leadership as well as the Gauteng Department of Basic Education and is therefore offered as a free online course in all provinces. Once an individual is enrolled, they are supported with mobile data as well. The course is also undergoing SACE accreditation for CPD points.
